 New Advocacy Service Launched for Older People with Mental Health Problems
Age Concern Sheffield is delighted to announce that, thanks to funding from NHS Sheffield, it has launched a new service for over 65s experiencing some form of mental ill-health. Specially trained advocates will work with people on a one to one basis, empowering them to make their own choices and speaking on their behalf if they are unable to do so for themselves thus ensuring they have a voice and are not ignored or discriminated against. We will also support clients to identify and access the services they need to enjoy the best possible quality of life.No formal diagnosis is needed to access the service which is also open to people with learning ...
